It actually felt like autumn this weekend, we needed jackets when we went outside. Getting dressed to go out for coffee with the crew took me a few minutes, the temps really meant long sleeves were needed. It took me a minute to remember what my options were, I've been wearing my short sleeve cotton shirts for so long, I forgot what was in my closet for the other seasons.
Part of my stitching time was spent working on hand stitching the binding for Squared Away. I've turned two corners, so just over half way done with that. Quilting on Glowing Hearts took up three days this week, so time working on my other projects was a bit limited. The second border did get added to Celtic Solstice (Bonnie Hunter).
The triangle in a square blocks needed for the next pieced border are still in progress.
Just 24 of these left to make. The square in a square corner stones for that border are finished, but I forgot to get a photo of those. I considered starting assembling the border strips from the blocks already done, but the 2026 BOM really needs to be done by the November Guild meeting, so it needs to take priority. So I'll keep making the blocks while assembling that project.
My priorities this week are to get Squares Away bound and make some progress on getting the 2026 BOM assembled. Linking up with Patchwork & Quilts, plus Sew & Tell Monday.

Beautiful quilt. Love those colors.
ReplyDeleteWow. This is gonna be a stunner quilt. Love your colors.
ReplyDeleteExcellent progress!! I had to find warmer clothes too, although this week it will be unseasonably warm again. We did have a beautiful fall weekend here.
ReplyDeleteThe cooler temperatures are definitely welcome, but I understand what you mean about not remembering what options are available in my closet! Sounds like you are making great progress on Squared Away and Celtic Solstice, and I hope the guild blocks come together quickly for you this week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you made good progress on the projects. The triangle in a square border is going to look amazing. Love that yummy chocolate fabric . Have a lovely week working on the November guild block. And enjoy those cooler temps . Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem figuring out what I have to wear in the closet when the weather changes! Plus sometimes you need something different if you go out first thing in the morning compared to mid-afternoon. Glad you're making good progress on the Squared Away binding, and on Celtic Solstice. That turquoise print in the triangle border blocks is really pretty!
ReplyDeleteI need to go through my closet as well. I got rid of a lot of stuff last year and now it is time to look again - I did get a new inexpensive cardigan today but I need to go through things I already have and get them ready for donation or see if Melanie wants anything
ReplyDeleteLoving the cooler temps--I think everyone was just so sick of the heat! But it was a bit hard with a 60+ degree swing within just a few days. Every year it gets just a bit harder to make the change but I will always welcome fall & winter. Love the quilt!
ReplyDeleteWow…I love what I’m seeing so far!
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics you've chosen for this quilt are so pretty. I'm sure you've finished those last bits by now! I need to shift my closet from summer to fall/winter, too!
