That was my morning, but the afternoons this week are reserved for more fun stuff. My Guy went for a bike ride, while my plan was to sew for a while. It was a nice sunny day, so I took the opportunity to get photos of my last finish, Zombies in Paris. It's been finished since the end of November, so was definitely time to get those photos.
I couldn't resist doing some staging for the final photo shot, for once I actually had the time.
Zombies in Paris by Kate Finished November 30, 2016 |
The colors photographed much truer outside. It's a fun quilt. The zombie fabric is a perfect fit for it's intended owner.
Trudy did a wonderful job with the quilting, the double hearts echo the quilt blocks.
The backing used the fabrics of Paris landmarks that didn't make the cut for the front of the quilt.
The lighter purple was used for the binding.
Drama Teen helped with the label, we kept the message simple.
So one down, three more to go.

Isn't it wonderful when a daughter is into your quilts? My youngest is like that, the eldest not so much, but her son, my grandson, more than makes up for it as he loves quilts. This is such a cute quilt and I love the staging you did! Sure to be a hit, and what a great backing; I love interesting quilts backs.
ReplyDeleteOf course, we all have a couple of zombie headstones in our backyard for staging ... Love the sentiment on the label.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out fantastic! Love how it all came together.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful! It will not only hug her in memories, but sure to strike up some conversation and new friends when she lays that out in the dorm.
ReplyDeleteIt looked very fitting with the headstones, and turned out lovely. I know DT's friend will love it! The label is great.

This is just too stinking cute, and I love how you've staged it. I once read a meme that said you should always tie people's shoelaces together when they're buried so that they won't be able to walk if they come back as zombies. You've done a wonderful job on this, Kate, and DT's friend is going to love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great finish - such lovely sentiments too. I wish I had had something similar to take away with me to University!
ReplyDeleteThis is sure to be well loved. A wonderful quilt and a great photo shoot.
