Rainbow Scrap Challenge: Still Pursuing Purples while Acquiring Aquas

This was one of those weeks where Friday couldn't come soon enough.  Not sure why the week dragged, but it surely did. There are chores to be done today.  Unfortunately, laundry is an absolute must.  But I may declare tomorrow a solo retreat day.  My sanity needs to be restored, it was sorely tested this week.  A day in the sewing room would be a great way to recover.

There was time this week to make some progress on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks, though I'm still working on last month's purples.  All the small purple blocks are done.

The last of the large purple fan blocks is almost done, just one more black strip.  I was just too sleepy to finish it last night, as I said it was a long week.  The fabrics are selected for February's blocks.  In looking at what was in the stash and how they fit together, I decided that all the small fan blocks will be teal.

All the large fan blocks will be aqua.

My stash could use some dark and light aquas, it's a bit heavy on medium tones.  But I think these 8 fabrics will work just fine.

You can see more sky and water colored blocks over at Soscrappy.  On Sunday, check out Oh Scrap over at Quilting is More Fun than Housework for even more scrappy eye candy.

I'm sorry your week was a tough one, but I hope you get your sewing time to get your sanity restored. I can hardly wait to see this quilt come together. Do you have a setting plan in mind already or just waiting to see?

Some weeks are like that. Enjoy getting some "me time" in today working with those beautiful teals and aquas.

Beautiful purple blocks. You have awesome aqua fabrics. So far I haven't found many aqua's hiding in my scraps.

Lovely teal and aqua fabrics; I hope you find the time to work with them this weekend, and recharge your batteries. Now I'm going to look back through your recent posts to learn more about your "2017 block".

I've had weeks like that. Like your blocks and your fabrics, but I was really cheered by the header photos! Looks very cheerful and springy, just what I need!

Love all those aqua fabrics--you will have some fun putting them together--and I see, like me, you have some larger pieces there--I have very little actual scrap stash--so have to pull from the larger pieces--did get my aqua cat block ready for applique this morning--but that is as far as I will get today--
enjoy the moments, di

Your purple block is terrific. Can't wait to see it in teal. You have some lovely stash pieces. I have the same stars in circles piece. Keep up the good work!.

Lots of fun pieces to play with. The stacking bins look like they make great storage. I have plastic storage boxes and they work great when I kick them, if I've latched the lid. 🙄 Prepping tops to quilt takes time. And then the backing. Then batting. Lad it all, pick thread. Plan quilting. AARRGGHH!

Your purples are so striking. I know your teals/aquas will be just as beautiful.

I am leaving my email address because it has been pointed out to me that I am a "no reply" blogger. I am not too good at this blog thing, but I will change that as soon as I figure out how to do it!

Love how these little fan blocks just pop with color - purples are fabulous but what a super mix of blue hues.

Sewing is so much better than paying a therapist! Aqua - teal fans will be pretty. I'm loving working with the color this month. I started out thinking I didn't have any!

Please blog more responsibly...some of us cannot view such a wonderful selection of fabrics without going on a buying binge. The blue with black in the second section is totally awesome!
