Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Anything but Drab Brown

The weekend started early for me as Friday was a day off.  After a few errands that took up the morning, I was able to spend most of the afternoon in the sewing room.  Not all of it was stitching, I'm also trying to put some order to the sewing room.  The fabric closet has gotten out of hand, so some time was spent there figuring out a plan of attack and making a start on putting it to rights.

Once the stitching got started, I finally finished a Vintage Dress block in brown.

 Vintage Dresses by Charise Randell

I would wear this one if it was real, though brown is not really my color.  This was the easiest of the 4 dress patterns, it went together so much easier than the first two blue dresses did.  Can't say that for the final dress in the pattern.  It has lots of pieces.  Lots of little bitty pieces.  I've started putting it together, so far so good.  But I haven't gotten to the part with the itty, bitty pieces yet.

I'm hoping for some more good stitching time this afternoon. For now I'm going to finish my coffee and check out all the scrappy blocks over at Soscrappy.

You are definitely right about this dress -- I would definitely wear it too! Good luck on the small paper piecing -- sometimes that can be a real bear.

Cute, cute, cute. Brown is anything but drab in your vintage dress.

Lovely dress -- very classy. (I don't wear brown either)

Cute. I'd wear it too if I was 40 years younger and had a small waist again.
A lot of my clothes are brown.

This one is a beauty. It does look a little less fussy. Good luck on the tiny part. Tiny paper piecing is at least easier than regular tiny piecing.

Cute! Would wear it.

Whata great use of sparkly fabric. It looks like a prom dress. Have fun with the tinies, and good luck with reordering the fabric closet.

I was thinking I could wear that dress just as I read your words about wearing it. Funny. It's very cute, and this quilt is going to be adorable. Just got started on my rainbow quilt yesterday. Catching up with the blues first.

The swirly fabric is really elegant and rich looking. A fashion winner!

I'm with Cathy - if I was 40 years younger I'd wear it, too.
Good luck with those itty, bitty pieces! Judging by your previous dresses, you should be able to sail through! (Hoping I didn't jinx you by saying that...)

Great addition to the wardrobe. I would live to make these, but I am terrible at paper piecing.

Gorgeous dress - I'd wear it, too. I can't wait to see the one with all the itty bitty pieces! Braver than me - I don't like paper piecing tiny things!

I would wear it but I'd definitely need to tan for a few days before.

Another cute retro fashioned block. I am assuming these are paper pieced?
