Design Wall Monday - The Last Row

It was a wet weekend, which made it hard to do much of anything except visit with family and stitch a bit.  My Guy and Drama Teen wanted to visit a museum this weekend as something to do since we couldn't get out and do anything else.  DT wanted to visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial that honors the victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing since they had studied the media coverage extensively in her journalism class.   The Memorial and associated museum are amazing places and worth the visit.  I left with a renewed vow to appreciate my family every day.

There was some stitching going on this weekend as well.  Grand Illusion is moving along.

Grand Illusion, A Bonnie Hunter Mystery

Just 3 more blocks and a couple rows of sashing blocks left to make.  I don't know if I'll get GI to the finished flimsy stage by the end of the week, but it will be close.

The binding for last year's Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler also got made.  Before I can sew it on, I need to come up with a name for this quilt so the label can be sewn into the binding.

Rainbow Scrap Challenge SamplerBy Angela Feldbush of Soscrappy

Here's some possibilities that are rolling around in my head:

Cuddle the Rainbow (DT has claimed this quilt for cuddling on the couch)
Scrappy Skittles
Rainbow Scraps
Prism
Scrappy Spectrum
Copper, Cadmium, Cobalt, Carbon (roughly green, yellow, blue and black in "chemical colors", DT thinks she wants to be a chemist when she grows up)

Any other suggestions?

You are so close on Grand Illusion. It looks wonderful.

I like the idea of Rainbow in the name of the quilt. I find it so hard to name my quilts. I've tried coming up with names of places I've been, but sometimes that doesn't work.

Rainbow Delight? Corny I know. Your Grand Illusions is coming along nicely Congratulations on powering through on that quilt. Wordpress will not upload my picture so I am trying to be patient (not working too well)

Getting to the end on GI--it looks great.
I like the last name--maybe with their abbreviation on the chemical table (element table? Can't think of the right term!)

Congratulations on continuing on with GI... the end is coming into view. I like the name Color Splash that Julianne suggested. I also like the idea of using the abbreviations of the elements you listed. Cool concept. LOVE the borders you did. Very creative. Keep going you are almost done with it. Great Job!

Hope you all are safe and sound with the floods in OK! You are getting close to the finish line on GI! I love "Cuddle the Rainbow!"

Your Grand illusion is coming along nicely! My daughter is a chemist (Forensic Toxicologist actually) and would love the abbreviations of the Periodic Table. Great quilt!

Can't wait to see your Grand Illusion quilt all together. It is looking great!
I love your rainbow sampler too (but I don't have any clever ideas for a name. I always struggle with that myself.)

Oh my gosh, your work is exquisite. I've always wanted to try quilting but wouldn't know where to start. (www.thehappypumpkin.worpress.com)

Yay, GI is almost done! I've seen some finished ones now and it's growing on me. Can't wait to see yours finished and see what it looks like as non-scrappy. Maybe it'll inspire me to finish up Celtic...
