Monday Design Wall - Still Puzzling

The trip to Kansas was fun and relaxing.  Drama Teen was able to meet in person one of the girls from her on line writing group.  This group of 5 girls met in an on line creative writing class almost two years ago.  They hit it off so well, that they still meet on line weekly to work on a novel they are all writing together.

After meeting up with DT's writing buddy, we did a lot of just hanging out and messing around.  Drama Teen especially.

Thankfully no bail was required to get her out of that fix.

Between spring break and work, not a lot of time has been spent in the sewing room.  It's taken two weeks to finish another row of blocks for the Jigsaw quilt.

I'm still not certain that block number 4 in the last row is going to work out.  It may be too light.  But I'm going to wait till I get the next row of blocks all finished and get DT's opinion before I pull it out and look for a replacement.  I may just need to cut some pieces from a darker part of the fabric.

That's about all that's changed on the design wall.  Some progress is being made with the Rainbow Challenge Sampler blocks, so hopefully I'll have some of those to show off in Saturday's post.  For more design wall fun, check out the links over at Patchwork Times

Quilt is looking great. If that one block is bothering fix it now so you don't regret it later.

Nice you had a fun weekend.

So nice for DT that she got to meet an on line friend. A bunch of us met on line in a quilting group years ago, gradually the group dwindled down to 5 but we are still in contact every few days and have got together twice in the last 10 years or so, one in Houston and once in New England.

So glad you all had a nice time! Poor DT! I am glad she got out of this one! I personally like the fabric you are referring to, I think it adds a little more dimension to the shadings......just my opinion?

How wonderful for your daughter that she has found some kindred souls that encourage her in writing... loved to hear about that!
Great puzzle quilt... looks like fun to sew!

Your puzzle blocks looks real good to me. Those colors are so intense and seem to flow together well. I've heard you need a little contrast with the colors to give it some sparkle and add a bit movement. All the same intensity might make it look flat.

I adore the photo of DT in the stocks -- the look on her face is just precious!! The Jigsaw top is really coming along! I clicked on the photo to see how it was put together -- I really love it! Since Ellie is such a big fan of puzzles, this would be a fun one to do for her first big quilt! :)

DT doesn't look one bit like a criminal (although I could believe she was busted for disorderly conduct!)

You got a couple of things done even though you've had a crazy week and then went away. Thats more than I achieved this week in the sewing room!
