Design Wall Monday - August 29th

Not much of a change on the design wall again this week.  The final borders were added to Flurry on Friday.  It doesn't look much different then last week.

I started piecing the back yesterday, so maybe this one will be ready to go off for quilting next week.

All the blocks for the yellow and purple scrap quilt (pattern by Judy Turner and Margaret Rolf)  were laid out on the design floor in the library.  This is the final layout.

Since this had been my leaders and enders project, I'm going to keep on that path and sew the blocks together as I work on my other projects.  The first row of blocks have been squared up and lined up on the design wall ready to go when I start assembling the back for Flurry.   I need to come up with a new leaders and enders project.  I finished up Flurry without any "leader" blocks and it felt weird.  Does that mean I'm addicted to leaders and enders?

Check out Judy's Patchwork Times to see what else is up on design walls across blog land.

Love the layout for the purple/yellow blocks! The light is rippling across the quilt top.
Yes...I think you are addicted to the leader/ender! How about a 36 patch leader/ender?? (I'm loving it!)

I love your Flurry and the yellow/purple quilt is so beautiful.

I agree with Kathy -- those purple and yellows are fabulous laid out that way. And, I too seem to be addicted to Leaders and Enders. When I just push a piece of "scratch" fabric under to keep the threads engaged I feel like I am missing something. I've got the same question -- what to do as my next leader and ender? Decisions, decisions!

I really like your diagonal set for your yellow and purple quilt. Great idea to use the blocks as L/E.

I feel lost without a l/e project. Definitely addicted! I love the yellows and purples, and the Flurry top is so cheerful!

They both look great. I like the idea of keeping the purple one a leader/ender project!!

It does sound like you are addicted to leader/ender sewing, but that should be a good addiction! Sandi

You're a true l-e fan for sure, Kate! But looking at your fantastic results, there's no arguing with that dedication :) Hope you find a good one for the next l-e project!

It is definitely possible to be addicted to Leaders/enders. I know because I am! It feels so strange and wasteful to just pull pieces out of the machine and cut them leaving long tails of thread. LOL. Bonnie had had quite an effect on us.
