Stash Report - April 3rd

Yesterday was beautiful here, sunny and highs in the 80's.  It will be warm again today, but the winds will be high (gusts to 40 mph)so it won't be as nice as it was yesterday.  Hopefully it won't be long before everyone can enjoy the warmer temps and sunnier skies.

I did get more sewing done than was projected at the last stash report.  It was busy at work and I did work late a couple of nights.  Even so, I did manage to find a few minutes to sew most evenings.  Here is the effect on the stash:

Used this week: 1.57 yards
Added this week:  0 yards

Used year to date:  12 yards
Added year to date:  7 yards

Net Used for 2011:  5 yards

Fabric Budget:  13 yards for April to June
Bought/Budget:  0/13 yards

My yardage out is typically pretty small each week, but it does add up over time.  The fabric budget is helping me stay on track with fabric purchases.  The budget was set at the beginning of the year to be 10 yards/quarter.   I didn't spend all of the 1st quarter fabric budget, so I rolled the 3 yards left into the second quarter budget.

That's the stash report for this week.   Now I have to move on to more complex number crunching, our taxes.

Check out Judy's Patchwork Times for more stash busting tales.

I am a state north of you and it was in the mid 70's. Perfect temps but the wind was blowing big time.

Each year, I think I'll start sooner on those numbers, but no... I am a later starter too.

Glad you're getting some sewing in. The winds are pretty harsh over here..I'm watching some branches, broken in previous storms, hanging by a sliver of wood. It oucld be a dangerous day to be working in the garden!

I am saving most of my fabric money for a HUGE fat quarter sale I go to every year. It's my absolute favorite. Fat quarters are only $1 is you purchase them before 7 am in the morning....it's coming up in the summer....can't wait!!

Good for you for getting stash busted even though you worked a lot. I haven't figured out how to balance it all yet. Your numbers are fantastic!

I like the idea of a "Fabric Budget". I have a smaller stash (exactly 4 drawers), so I'll never post the big numbers. But my stash report is all about being unaccountable and trying to make sure I don't grow a huge stash.

Glad I found your blog!

Well done on your fabric budget.

You're doing great Kate. I worked out I can only buy 4 yards a month for the rest of the year if I want to male my goal for the year!
